Obverse features portrait of Pedro Alvares Cabral (1467-1520), a Portuguese nobleman, military commander, navigator and explorer regarded as the European discoverer of Brazil. The reverse features Portuguese caravela sailing ship and different animals and plants of Brazil. Security features include a solid security thread  and  identical reversed portrait watermark of Pedro Alvares Cabral.
